Don’t Miss Love a Tree Day
Here at Affordable Plumbing Sewer & Drain, we are committed to making sure each customer has good clean water to drink. We also know that it’s important for our plant life to have clean water to drink; which is why we were excited to discover National Love a Tree Day!
Pine, Maple, Willows etc are only a handful of the thousands of species of trees on this planet. Without trees, and other plants, our way of life would not be possible. That is why it’s so important to take care of, not only the trees in your yard, but the trees in our world.
Having clean water to drink is one of the most important things trees need to survive and be healthy. Like us, drinking polluted water can cause a tree to become ill and eventually die. That is why we were thrilled to find Love a Tree Day this year. It gives us all a chance to show the trees some attention and love.
We All Need Clean Water
There is not enough emphasis we can put on how important it is for trees to have clean water to drink. Trees absorb water through their roots.
When that water is unclean, it can cause the tree to wither and die. As trees (and other green plants) produce our oxygen, we would not be able to survive without them.
Besides oxygen, trees are used for so many other wonderful things. How many of us can remember climbing a tree when we were young? Or sitting under a tree for shade? Having a tree swing, or even a bird feeder on a tree limb, can be so rewarding!
Beyond that, trees provide shelter for many animals like birds, bees, squirrels, and chipmunks. They are also a food source for many animals as well! If our trees do not have access to clean water, entire ecosystems could potentially disappear.
Water Filtration is a Must
When you think about your drinking water, you may not think about your water being polluted, right? We drink bottled water, and most of us have a water filtration system in place.
Just like trees though, polluted water can have some devastating effects on humans. Water that is not filtered can cause diseases such as dysentery, cholera, typhoid, and hepatitis.
Having a water filtration system in place will eliminate the dangers of waterborne diseases. Like trees, we cannot grow and thrive without clean water.
What To Do On Love a Tree Day
On May 16th we will celebrate National Love a Tree Day. A cousin to Arbor Day, Love a Tree Day is a holiday were we can celebrate all the amazing gifts trees have given us.
The best way to celebrate...water a tree! A good place to start is in your own backyard! Give trees on your property a good drink of clean water. If you live in an urban area, look around at the trees on your street, or in the local park.
Find a tree, and show it some love. You can either use the water from your faucet, or collect rainwater. Either way, Love a Tree Day will not only benefit the tree, but our environment!
